Everything’s happening so fast

Hi everyone!

– And sorry for being so out of touch with the blog, but life got in the way..

Right now is the first time in ages that I have a moment to spare, to sit down, be bored, watch a movie, write my blog and so on. The only thing I have been persistent in updating, is my Instagram! So do take a look, there is a lot of new pictures!

Right now I am relaxing, drinking Cuba watermelon mixed with Carlsberg sport (pop basically) – It’s gorgeous, you guys got to try it if you haven’t! It’s so hot outside, it’s finally spring in Denmark, so I thought it was the perfect drink for the evening – not that I drink a lot, but today just called for it! But while I’m drinking this, I am watching a movie on netflix called ”Safe Haven”, a really good movie I might add, watch it sometime, but I gotta warn ya, its a ”girly movie” as my fiancé would put it. 😉

Tomorrow we are spending time with my family, firing up the grill and having some steaks and sausages, yum! I can’t wait, it’s gonna be awesome! 😛

I am happier than ever in life, I love my fiancé and every day, he makes me happy that I’m with him. It’s corny, but I even love cooking for him. I love spoiling him, making him lunches for work, just anything that makes his life a little easier, and why? Because I love him, just because I simply love him. He makes me smile, laugh and just stronger. I would never have dared starting my education as a Care Assistant if it wasn’t for him. He made me who I am in a way, he patched up a part of me that I had no idea was broken. He have been struggling real hard to find a job here in Denmark, not just any job, but a job as a tiler, and he found it! He is now working as a tiler in a small company and have made some great friends too, that just makes me so happy, I’m insanely proud of him!

Life is just so insanely exciting as a Care Assistant intern. I have tried a lot of things, that even some educated Care Assistants haven’t – or so they told me! 😉

I gave B12 intramuscularly – which means ”injection into the muscle”, that was probably the most intense injection I’ve tried so far! 😮 The needle is huge, or so it seems the first time you give the injection, I was calm on the outside, but inside I was shaking a little.. It went perfectly fine, no bleeding or anything and it went into the muscle perfectly, so I was happy and so was the patient! 😀

I have dealt a lot with insulin injections, their fairly easy, and so is the blood sugar measurements, but their a lot of fun, and its a whole new chapter that’s opening up for me, having to study about it and get into the whole ”fast working insulin and slow working insulin”, it’s so exciting!

I have worked with catheter’s too, observing them, inserting them, rinsing them, changing them and so on. That’s pretty cool too, even tho’ inserting them can be a challenge! No ones alike down there, just sayin’ 😀 haha!

Then I have tried to change an Ostomy, which can be really tricky and also messy, but luckily it weren’t – that time! 😛

I have probably done a lot more, but I have honestly forgotten, because I have been allowed to do so many new things, and I love the fact that I have! I have the best mentor, I can only ever say good things about her, I have to be at this place for 6 months, and I’m not wanting to leave the place at all! ❤ Even tho its way out at the country side, where there is farms and files n’ miles of fields! But it’s just beautiful..

So as you all can read, everything seems to just be working out for us (me and my fiancé), we have struggled a bit, but that’s over now, I can’t wait for the summer vacation, having his kids over, just like last year, I miss them very much. ❤

I hope you guys had as good a day as I have, I couldn’t have hoped for a better day, it was very busy, with a hairdressers appointment, grocery shopping, dog sitting, washing clothes and snapping pictures, but I loved today, every second of it!

See you online! x

Life lately in pictures

Lately I have been really ill, I have had the flu, and so you all know that feeling, of being cooped up inside, but having no strength to go anywhere? – that’s been me lately.. Full of cold, coughing and fever – oh joy! But I’m starting to come around though, after a full week of pure torture, I hate being ill! I have seriously slept so much lately, that now when I’m finally feeling a bit better, I messed up my sleeping pattern completely, argh! 🤣But it’s gonna be great going back to work / my internship, I really missed it and all my colleagues! ❤

Other than that I have been insanely busy with my education, I have ordered / received books for my new school semester (Nine to be exact! 😅), which will be totally different this year, since I’ve been “bumped up” from a care helper intern, to a nurses assistant intern, so I am basically not finishing my care helper education, but moving straight on to the nurses assistant education this month, the 20.03.17 to be exact, yikes! 😱 So the one picture of ALL my books, that’s what I’m gonna be doing for the next couple of years, scary stuff, but also very cool! I can’t wait to start, it’s my dream that’s come true really and I’m so proud of being given this opportunity to skip a step and move on to the education I so badly want. ❤

I have been enjoying life a lot with my fiancé, getting a bit of takeout – sushi (he got a wok dish since he hates sushi – except the deep fried prawns you guys see on the picture lol) Watching a ton of good movies (mainly on Netflix) and just plain relaxing, we have had a lot going on before Christmas and all through New Years, with traveling, holidays and my education, so we are just enjoying the peace and quiet that kicks in after the holiday rush, it’s fantastic! 😍

We have been getting into my fiancés “new” hobby a bit, I basically got my fiancé a fish tank for Christmas, since he has been dying to pick up this old hobby of his, I thought it was an awesome idea, and it was a perfect Christmas present. After that, he has slowly filled it with the fish he wanted. (An albino pleco pair, some blue ram cichlids, some beautiful cherry red shrimp and some neon tetras) The whole thing have been quite the adventure to say the least, and I have gotten to enjoy this hobby of his and the tank is just insanely beautiful to look at! I love all kinds of animals, so I can fully say, that I really love his hobby – it’s pretty damn awesome!

So I have been going mad on MAC products, I purchased this fantastic “Retro Matte liquid lipcolour” in the shade so me and got so into it, that I had to have a second one, called burnt spice, I do not regret getting these two, their insane, lasts for hours and hours and looks great on!

Besides make up, I have changed my hair, I had a very dark brown haircolour and I pulled all the colour out and added in a tone 6, basically it’s a very light brown, on the box it said “dark blond”, but I do think it’s more of a light brown really, but I love it, and it’s the colour closest to my real haircolour, so I’m keeping it this way, I am really liking it. ❤

I hope you guys have had some great months into the new year and that you have had amazing holidays before that, we are enjoying the calm before the storm – which means my education swap and then my finances birthday coming up around the corner – omg! 😱😜 It’s gonna be great!

See you online! x

Life lately

A girls hair is her secret weapon, or at least I think so.. And my hair is definitely what makes me feel attractive and feminine. So August (almost at the end of August), I spoiled myself by visiting my hairdresser and getting a new hair color and some reflexes made. – It was highly needed, since it’s been ages ago that I went to the hairdressers.

So I’ll give you guys some before and after pictures below! 😄

A before picture

The after picture

The result is just perfect, and I’m so happy that I listened to my hairdresser and what she thought would suit me, sometimes it just works out better than imagined!

At the beginning of September I finally got myself dragged to the opticians to get my glasses ordered – not one of my fondest experiences tho.. I have to wear them every day, normally I just need reading glasses, but my sight got worse through the years apparently. So I ended up buying Karen Millen glasses and am crossing my fingers and hoping I won’t get worse eye sight any time soon. – I really don’t like glasses much, that’s the honest truth! I feel geeky with them on (More than I already am yes!) and most of them don’t fit my petite face – it looks like the glasses are wearing me and not me wearing the glasses.. So I ended up with a pair that wasn’t that bold, even tho I wanted bold, go bold or go home right?! But I just don’t suit bold glasses..

A close up of me and my new glasses!

So that’s my glasses, nothing big or extreme, just a classic look, it was horribly to pick out glasses – I was torn between this model from Karen Millen and a Hugo Boss model. To be fair, I adored both of them, but these fit me the best. I hope that I’ll get more confident wearing them, but right now I’m not thrilled.. But it’s better than not being able to see properly or have headaches all the time..

Hope your month was as good?

Being someone’s “bonus”

I told you guys in my last post, that I have had so much going on and have been very busy, that’s the reason I’ve been a bit quiet here! 🙂

A picture from Tivoli

I finally have a little time now, and I can share with you all what I’ve been up to!

My fiancé have been blessed earlier in life with three amazing kids and I get along with very well with their mother, she is a good friend of mine I might add and a brilliant mom! Their three kids have been on vacation here in Denmark for two weeks, and I’ve been experiencing how it is to be a “bonus mom”. ❤️

We went to Tivoli (A Danish amusement park), we went to the Zoo in Copenhagen and we went to Dino Land in our town (a huge indoor playground). We did a lot while they were here, and it was amazing to be a part of their life, I’m really lucky to be able to see them grow up like this. Their truly amazing kids and so well behaved.

As soon as they left us at the airport, I must admit, I cried. I was getting so used to having them around, the laughs, the hugs and the busy days.. Our home was empty and quiet after they left, it really was. They will always have a home here in Denmark with their dad and I, their brilliant kids, all tree of them.

So this is why I’ve been so madly busy, and I’ve been loving it! I now understand the busy life of a parent / bonus parent, but also the joy that comes with it – it’s truly unique. So to every parent or bonus parent out there, so much love from me to you! It’s hard work, but it must be so rewarding.

See you guys online! x

My exam and my results

I have been biting my nails for two weeks straight, it has been a battle and I have had so much stress these past weeks that I can’t even begin to explain it, but its been all worth it!

Exam-Word-Map-flatAt the 20th of June I went to draw my exam case in science. Basically, what we did, was go and pick between 6 cases, I picked for us, cause we were so nervous and I just snatched the first and best exam case there was! Number two, my lucky number!

We got the case, sat down, opened it, read it up, found out what subjects to weigh highest and then we went home, we had 24 hours to write and research and use our textbooks, I wrote a lot of Que cards and had with me.

Basically the subjects I had chosen to weigh highest was:

  • Enzymes in the body, how it works and what protein, fat and carbs gets broken down to.
  • Enzymes in the dishwashing soap and how it works on a theoretical level.
  • Enzymes in  washing powder and how it works on a theoretical level.
  • Different types of bacteria, where they thrive, what kills them and how to prevent being infected with the different types of bacteria.
  • Atoms, covalent bindings, ion bindings and what the octet rule and the doublet rule is, and how to calculate how many neutrons there is in an atom.
  • Fluid calculations and also extra fluid calculation when you have a fever and a calculation for what fluids she should drink if her BMI was on a healthy normal scale.
  • BMI calculation and why elderly is better off having a higher BMI, then a BMI calculation of what type of BMI the citizen should have had.
  • Mold and why it’s so dangerous, how it thrives and what you can do to prevent it.
  • Nutrition and protein drinks, how protein binds fat in your body and why a Y-plate is such a good choice.
  • A carbs, protein and fat calculation, how much should a citizen eat if they had to gain weight or keep their weight.

That was basically what I went in and talked about!

I went in the examination room the 21st of June and scored an A+ on the English grade scale / 12 on the Danish grade scale, I was so nervous, but the examination went beyond what I had ever dreamt of. This was defiantly the exam i dreaded the most, but I did it! The censor told me that I was a star, that was something completely new, I teared up and I couldn’t help but cry – happy tears of course! I have never been praised so much in my entire life, he was the best censor I have ever had. I will never forget the praise he gave me, I will take it with me in my further education and I will be calmer, tell myself that I can do this and that I am clever, that I can do calculations

Thursday the 30th of June, I went and had my last exam, this was a ”pass or not pass” grade we got, we had half a week to make a case, based on the subjects that was in the book, it was our ”basic course” that we had to pass, everyone needed to pass this, only a few had to do the science exam, because others had a different education background and had this previously in their education.

I went in the 30th as the second student, and I talked way too long, but was told by the censor, that she hoped I went all the way, and that I took my nurse’s assistant education too, but I want the nurse too, so I have quite a long way to go still, but I’m proud and relived that I got so amazing grades!

For the first time ever, I feel confident that this education and this line of work is just right! I have chosen the right path.

Everyone out there working hard on their exams right now, so much good luck to you! I know how the anticipation nervousness and butterflies feel like! You can do it!

See you guys online! x

My busy life

I know I have been very busy recently and that I have had very little time to write in my favorite blog and share life with you guys, my followers, sorry for that, but life has been so hectic but so amazing! And here’s the reason why:

I have started working, just a month as an intern as a caregiver at a nursing home, I have loved every second of it, even though I have been scared, thinking things like “can I handle the pressure, the illnesses, the downs?” I have discovered that I could, I have found it such a giving and beautiful job, I’m so extremely happy every time I get home from work, worn but happy! Cause I feel like I have made a major difference in someone’s life, have given them the help they need to still value their life and making them feel safe and loved, this is unique, this is a gift for me, every single day I go to work – I might give them a lot, but I get more in return, knowing I’m giving someone the care and love they need to value life, that is unique, special.

As I said I started as an intern, but then after third week, I was so lucky to get offered a job until I can apply for the assistant caregiver education – it’s a tad higher than a caregiver, assistants can handle medication, talk to the doctors and help with all kinds of treatments of the citizen is feeling unwell, and I want to be an assistant caregiver badly! After that, I am thinking of studying to be a nurse, this is the line of work I want to be in, it’s amazing!

So this is why I have been so busy! I need to collect knowledge now to get into the assistant caregiver school, cause normally you go do the caregiver education first and then the assistant and then nurse school, but as I am skipping a step – so I need to learn a lot at my workplace now, so I’m sure to do well in classes. My work colleagues likes me a lot, and I like them – I found a great place to work, everyone is just so kind!

It’s my birthday soon, the 22nd of July to be exact – time passes so fast, 27 years old, wow it’s almost gone too fast.. Am having a birthday party this Wednesday, just a small one though, don’t wanna make a big deal out of my birthday, getting a year older… Haha!

Hope you guys have been doing great, see you all online! x

Another month has passed

With this month almost passed, I decided to write a “this month” cause it’s been a while since I wrote one!

This has been a hectic month for me, birthdays, gatherings, friends, problems and so on.. I had my fair share! But this month has been a great one even though. I even had time to sit and relax, read a good book, or take a walk in the woods, with Sammi!

I had a lot of friends and family at my place this month, I cooked some really awesome meat for my girlfriend, her boyfriend, my next door neighbor (the roomy lol) and my fiancé! I bought a new painting for my bedroom, and it fits perfectly! I had some awesome mornings, waking up with Sammi lying all cuddled up next to me, and I even colored my hair, and had a whole new haircut! I love getting new haircuts, it just gets boring if it’s the same old stuff all over again! You guys like it? Hehe.. I am trying to grow my hair a bit longer, my fiancé finds it pretty in this length, so I’m keeping it for now! (Don’t quite know if I can stand it long!) hehe..

With love..
