My saturday!

New hair color (again) and a new blending technique!

So this is my new hair color, I regretted the red color that I colored it after only about a day, it was originally a ”copper” but it was bright orangey red at the top and a bit more red at the tips of my hair, this new one I will keep though! Its also from Schwarzkopf – Natural and easy and is no 576 and its a chestnut brown, I love the deep dark brown with an undertone of a dark almost red/purple copper. It suits my skintone a lot better than the red/orange. I am and always will be a ”natural look” girl, haha!img_0311-2

I got to practice a lot more on my contouring with my Smashbox kit, as you can see on the pictures above, I still make sure its as natural as possible, I just enhance my features – mainly my cheekbones, I now started blending it in with my make-up sponge, but applying the color with my brush, then blending it with my sponge, and it works wonders! It blends perfectly, I saw it on several Youtube videos being used to blend out the lines.

Today I got a call from my big sister asking what we were up to today, her and her youngest kid stopped by and we spend all Saturday catching up, going to an e cig shop called Ecigz where my fiancé bought a few juices and my big sister also bought a few things, then getting takeout from Tandoori Hut in the mall that the shop is at and went home to ours to eat. We had a lovely evening, I missed her and it was amazing catching up with her.

Her son had saved up money from Christmas to buy a Segway board and we charged it at our place and it was good fun to see him learn how to stand on it, he was quite good! He learned so fast, it was incredible – I wasn’t gonna try my luck with that thing! Knowing me, I would break something haha! Those things looks so dangerous, I would never dare to use one, it seems to me that you can hurt yourself very easy on one of those things, or is it just me being a chicken? It drives crazy fast!

Today its been snowing like crazy, it has snowed so much today in my town that the snowplow we have at the building blocks we live in, have been driving non stop. Denmark is covered in a deep layer of snow now, the last time I looked outside, huge snowflakes were streaming down in a neverending layer, covering everything. Its beautiful outside, the snow makes it look perfect, but its freezing cold and very slippery. I feel like an old lady, walking outside in a turtle slow pace, so I dont slip – cause I always slip when its been snowing and the rain has been freezing all over the pavement, it will end up with me breaking something if I walk any faster than granny speed..

It was a great day today, I love weekends, especially when I get to spend them with my fiancé, my big sister and her son.

Look of the day

Today I went out to dinner with my family and my fiancé, to celebrate my little sisters birthday! I chose a very subtle look, these are the items I used:

I love this foundation from Youth Lab, it covers and blends in with my skin perfectly, and it feels light on my skin and looks natural!

I used Nilens Jord eyeshadow palette – no 1 for my lid and 3 + 4 for doing smokey eyes.

The mascara and the brow mascara is a must have for me – I love them. Ever since I first tried these, I was sold, they have been a permanent item in my make-up bag ever since!

I like a natural but visible lipstick, so I used a “semi nude” lipstick, I love how much MAC’s Brave just fits my skin tone, this is one of my favorite lipsticks.

To finish the look, I used my contouring palette from Smashbox, that I was very lucky to win in December in a give away.

What items do you love? What lipsticks shades are your favorite, and from what brand? I have a thing for MAC lipsticks, but to be fair, blush is more Nyx and foundation is Youth Lab, I would love to hear what brands you guys use!

Contouring can be natural!

Everyone around me has been so scared of getting the very feared “Kardashian” look, and I completely agree and understand this! It’s too much of a good thing, and contouring should only be used to enhance your features, not erase them completely.

I have been the lucky winner of a give away this December that I have been wanting to blog about! Now I have the chance cause I just used my new contouring kit from Smashbox that I won one of for myself and one for my little sister. Here is the result of my way of contouring – and I made it as natural as possible, there is a million and one way to do this, and I just chose what was right in my mind.

So to break it down: I have highlighted under my eyes and on a small triangle between my eyebrows, then the bridge of my nose and my chin. I have used the contouring / dark under my cheekbones, then bronzer on my cheeks and added a bit of blush. Very simple, very natural, I just wanted to enhance the features I already do have.

This is what I won! I don’t use the brush, cause I feel like it loses hair and the hair then gets stuck to my skin, so am not fond of the brush, instead I use the brush from “Real Techniques” – my favorite brush and sponge brand. This is the exact brush I use by the way.

I got this with my Goodiebox in what I believe was the November edition, where they made a “Magasin” edition, I loved that box a lot, and use many of the products from the box, and repurchased a lot of them too. So if you guys are Danish, do have a look at their website, they do some awesome monthly boxes of spoils!

Rimmel Lasting Finish review

A good foundation is a must have for any girl or woman for a fantastic make-up finish. I just tested the “Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude 25hr” and this does wonders for your skin!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude is addicting and brilliant for a natural medium coverage foundation!

It was amazingly easy to apply, the texture was perfect – it just worked for me, cause it wasn’t runny or too thick. When you apply this, it even feels natural, not sticky or like you have a lot of make-up on, your skin can actually breathe! It’s rare for me to find a foundation that makes the skin look flawless and let’s it breathe too.

All in all I would give this foundation 6 stars – full house! I’ll write a list below with the reasoning behind it!

  • Natural coverage
  • Let’s the skin breathe
  • Gives the skin a healthy glow
  • Easy to apply
  • Fantastic texture
  • Covers all the minor imperfections
  • Has a natural feel
  • Blends easily
  • Fits skin color perfectly
  • A more than fair price
  • Pretty large bottle

Have you guys tried this foundation out yet? It’s truly fantastic, the price is totally affordable and the bottle is 30 ml – so the amount is pretty large. I bought this in “Boots” in England – at Halifax, I’m amazed at the coverage, it covers and is so natural at the same time, it just gives your skin that boost of life! Try it, you won’t regret it, it’s addicting!
