Life lately in pictures

Lately I have been really ill, I have had the flu, and so you all know that feeling, of being cooped up inside, but having no strength to go anywhere? – that’s been me lately.. Full of cold, coughing and fever – oh joy! But I’m starting to come around though, after a full week of pure torture, I hate being ill! I have seriously slept so much lately, that now when I’m finally feeling a bit better, I messed up my sleeping pattern completely, argh! đŸ€ŁBut it’s gonna be great going back to work / my internship, I really missed it and all my colleagues! ❀

Other than that I have been insanely busy with my education, I have ordered / received books for my new school semester (Nine to be exact! 😅), which will be totally different this year, since I’ve been “bumped up” from a care helper intern, to a nurses assistant intern, so I am basically not finishing my care helper education, but moving straight on to the nurses assistant education this month, the 20.03.17 to be exact, yikes! đŸ˜± So the one picture of ALL my books, that’s what I’m gonna be doing for the next couple of years, scary stuff, but also very cool! I can’t wait to start, it’s my dream that’s come true really and I’m so proud of being given this opportunity to skip a step and move on to the education I so badly want. ❀

I have been enjoying life a lot with my fiancĂ©, getting a bit of takeout – sushi (he got a wok dish since he hates sushi – except the deep fried prawns you guys see on the picture lol) Watching a ton of good movies (mainly on Netflix) and just plain relaxing, we have had a lot going on before Christmas and all through New Years, with traveling, holidays and my education, so we are just enjoying the peace and quiet that kicks in after the holiday rush, it’s fantastic! 😍

We have been getting into my fiancĂ©s “new” hobby a bit, I basically got my fiancĂ© a fish tank for Christmas, since he has been dying to pick up this old hobby of his, I thought it was an awesome idea, and it was a perfect Christmas present. After that, he has slowly filled it with the fish he wanted. (An albino pleco pair, some blue ram cichlids, some beautiful cherry red shrimp and some neon tetras) The whole thing have been quite the adventure to say the least, and I have gotten to enjoy this hobby of his and the tank is just insanely beautiful to look at! I love all kinds of animals, so I can fully say, that I really love his hobby – it’s pretty damn awesome!

So I have been going mad on MAC products, I purchased this fantastic “Retro Matte liquid lipcolour” in the shade so me and got so into it, that I had to have a second one, called burnt spice, I do not regret getting these two, their insane, lasts for hours and hours and looks great on!

Besides make up, I have changed my hair, I had a very dark brown haircolour and I pulled all the colour out and added in a tone 6, basically it’s a very light brown, on the box it said “dark blond”, but I do think it’s more of a light brown really, but I love it, and it’s the colour closest to my real haircolour, so I’m keeping it this way, I am really liking it. ❀

I hope you guys have had some great months into the new year and that you have had amazing holidays before that, we are enjoying the calm before the storm – which means my education swap and then my finances birthday coming up around the corner – omg! đŸ˜±đŸ˜œ It’s gonna be great!

See you online! x

My saturday!

New hair color (again) and a new blending technique!

So this is my new hair color, I regretted the red color that I colored it after only about a day, it was originally a ”copper” but it was bright orangey red at the top and a bit more red at the tips of my hair, this new one I will keep though! Its also from Schwarzkopf – Natural and easy and is no 576 and its a chestnut brown, I love the deep dark brown with an undertone of a dark almost red/purple copper. It suits my skintone a lot better than the red/orange. I am and always will be a ”natural look” girl, haha!img_0311-2

I got to practice a lot more on my contouring with my Smashbox kit, as you can see on the pictures above, I still make sure its as natural as possible, I just enhance my features – mainly my cheekbones, I now started blending it in with my make-up sponge, but applying the color with my brush, then blending it with my sponge, and it works wonders! It blends perfectly, I saw it on several Youtube videos being used to blend out the lines.

Today I got a call from my big sister asking what we were up to today, her and her youngest kid stopped by and we spend all Saturday catching up, going to an e cig shop called Ecigz where my fiancé bought a few juices and my big sister also bought a few things, then getting takeout from Tandoori Hut in the mall that the shop is at and went home to ours to eat. We had a lovely evening, I missed her and it was amazing catching up with her.

Her son had saved up money from Christmas to buy a Segway board and we charged it at our place and it was good fun to see him learn how to stand on it, he was quite good! He learned so fast, it was incredible – I wasn’t gonna try my luck with that thing! Knowing me, I would break something haha! Those things looks so dangerous, I would never dare to use one, it seems to me that you can hurt yourself very easy on one of those things, or is it just me being a chicken? It drives crazy fast!

Today its been snowing like crazy, it has snowed so much today in my town that the snowplow we have at the building blocks we live in, have been driving non stop. Denmark is covered in a deep layer of snow now, the last time I looked outside, huge snowflakes were streaming down in a neverending layer, covering everything. Its beautiful outside, the snow makes it look perfect, but its freezing cold and very slippery. I feel like an old lady, walking outside in a turtle slow pace, so I dont slip – cause I always slip when its been snowing and the rain has been freezing all over the pavement, it will end up with me breaking something if I walk any faster than granny speed..

It was a great day today, I love weekends, especially when I get to spend them with my fiancé, my big sister and her son.

Online shopping!

nyxstick

I bought a new contouring stick from Nyx today

Today I finally got around to look at contouring, as I have won the new smashbox contouring kit, but in powder form, I wanted to try out some other ways of contouring, since I am hardly a pro at this! I saw a Youtube video, and decided between 3 products from different brands and in the end, I picked Nyx.

It seems much easier to blend, creamy and easy to apply and then its 2 in 1, so also easy to store and take with you if you travel – which I do a lot lately, due to my fiancĂ© having three kids back in England and we live in Denmark! 😀

The videos I’ve seen of others using this Nyx – wonder stick, has been easy and fast to apply, so I cant wait to get my hands on this amazing product!

Have you guys got a favorite contouring product? Cream or powder? How do you blend the best way possible? – I personally do brush blending when its a powder, and I do sponge if its creamy, that’s why I think cream contouring works best for me, cause I am best at using a beauty sponge. It just seems more natural in my hand and I have an easier feel of it.

Look of the day

Today I went out to dinner with my family and my fiancé, to celebrate my little sisters birthday! I chose a very subtle look, these are the items I used:

I love this foundation from Youth Lab, it covers and blends in with my skin perfectly, and it feels light on my skin and looks natural!

I used Nilens Jord eyeshadow palette – no 1 for my lid and 3 + 4 for doing smokey eyes.

The mascara and the brow mascara is a must have for me – I love them. Ever since I first tried these, I was sold, they have been a permanent item in my make-up bag ever since!

I like a natural but visible lipstick, so I used a “semi nude” lipstick, I love how much MAC’s Brave just fits my skin tone, this is one of my favorite lipsticks.

To finish the look, I used my contouring palette from Smashbox, that I was very lucky to win in December in a give away.

What items do you love? What lipsticks shades are your favorite, and from what brand? I have a thing for MAC lipsticks, but to be fair, blush is more Nyx and foundation is Youth Lab, I would love to hear what brands you guys use!

Contouring can be natural!

Everyone around me has been so scared of getting the very feared “Kardashian” look, and I completely agree and understand this! It’s too much of a good thing, and contouring should only be used to enhance your features, not erase them completely.

I have been the lucky winner of a give away this December that I have been wanting to blog about! Now I have the chance cause I just used my new contouring kit from Smashbox that I won one of for myself and one for my little sister. Here is the result of my way of contouring – and I made it as natural as possible, there is a million and one way to do this, and I just chose what was right in my mind.

So to break it down: I have highlighted under my eyes and on a small triangle between my eyebrows, then the bridge of my nose and my chin. I have used the contouring / dark under my cheekbones, then bronzer on my cheeks and added a bit of blush. Very simple, very natural, I just wanted to enhance the features I already do have.

This is what I won! I don’t use the brush, cause I feel like it loses hair and the hair then gets stuck to my skin, so am not fond of the brush, instead I use the brush from “Real Techniques” – my favorite brush and sponge brand. This is the exact brush I use by the way.

I got this with my Goodiebox in what I believe was the November edition, where they made a “Magasin” edition, I loved that box a lot, and use many of the products from the box, and repurchased a lot of them too. So if you guys are Danish, do have a look at their website, they do some awesome monthly boxes of spoils!

See you online guys! x

Happy 2016 everyone!

Goodbye 2015 and hello to 2016

This is our New Years eve in pictures, our dessert – homemade vanilla and strawberry ice cream that I made, our twelve o clock champagne, the make-up I did for the evening and our beloved New Years eve tradition – watching ”Dinner for one” or as we Danes call it, 90th birthday! A black and white movie, but god its funny, and we love it! My mom, my dad, the fireworks, its been a good evening, I cooked everything and my fiancĂ© did the steaks, and they were cooked perfect!

Make-up of the evening was foundation: A cc complete cream from Youth Lab, MAC lipstick called Brave, lip liner from Yves Rocher in the color Rose Fuchsia no 15, brow mascara from Maybelline, eyeliner called master precise from Maybelline and mascara from Max Factor! I will show you guys below, so you can see and if you like, you can contact me, if you wish for a review of anything, Id be honored to give one!

The eyebrow mascara and the eyeliner are both must haves, I have been loving them ever since i first bought them, and will always be a repurchase on my list! The CC cream from Youth lab is very new, but I got it in my monthly Goodiebox, and I have been hooked ever since, the mascara is a constant repurchase since I love that it makes my lashes sit perfect and does not clump! The lip liner from Yves Rocher is very new, and I am still getting to know that one, but I like it so far! Mac is never something you will regret buying, and the lipstick Brave is one of my favorites by far, with the lip liner, soar (which I did not wear on the pictures above though).

My newly repurchased make up products!

Well, I have a lot of favorite make-up products, and today I repurchased some of my all time favorites!

No. 1 LorĂ©al Infallible 24H Matte foundation: The shade is in 11 Vanilla – this product is truly amazing, it has a high coverage but a medium texture, which makes it feather light and feels gorgeous on your skin! It covers up perfectly and it fits my skin tone better than any foundation I’ve ever used – and it’s not even that expensive with the price of ÂŁ14 it’s definitely affordable!

No. 2 Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara: The shade is just regular black, and it’s fantastic for parting your lashes and defining them in a natural way, but still making them seem much longer, I use this brush with other mascaras too, for a better finish, cause it just parts the lashes so easily! I love it!

No. 3 Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara: The shade is dark brown, which fits my eyebrows the best – I would recommend that for everyone that’s brunette! It keeps the eyebrows in place, makes them more defined and gives them a fuller look, I have repurchased this product four times now, and I really just can’t get enough of it!
