New Years in pictures

The year 2017 was amazing, it was the year that I finally started my nurses assistant education, the year that I found out how it really felt like to be a nurses assistant and how busy it can be, but also rewarding!

It was the year that my amazing fiancé found work as a tiler and I am so insanely proud of him, he is such a strong man and such a wonderful dad and a fantastic fiancé

This year has been hard work, fun, exciting and down right busy! I found a job as an uneducated carer, so I’m basically working two jobs – one as an intern and one as uneducated, it’s hard, but it’s rewarding, I love helping and caring for people and I can’t wait to go to work again! I wouldn’t have it any other way.. My work is a part of who I am, and I am proud of that!

2017 has been a year of growth for me, a year where I’ve built up my confidence and where I have had so much love and support from my fiancé in almost everything I’ve done! I can’t thank him enough..

It’s also been the year where I’ve finally gotten my drivers license – something I’ve been putting off for forever, because I lived close to everything and never needed to drive. – But now I finally have it, and I’m driving! What’s even better is, I got my moms car to drive in all the time, since she hardly used it, I’m so thankful for that!

My little sister finished her masters degree in IT – I’m such a proud big sis, she is such a brainy girl and I know she will end up becoming someone great, she is just that type of girl. Determined and insanely smart

It’s also been a year of redecorating, where we redid the entire bedroom – newly painted and newly furnitured, now we just want a new bed, and a few bits and bobs, I really love that bedroom now!

2017 has also been all about spending time with my bonus babies, and I miss them dearly right now! They were here the summer of ’17, for three weeks, and I cried horribly when they had to go home! I felt miserable for weeks..

I truly hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe celebration of the new year and that 2018 will be an amazing year, mine can’t be anything but, cause I have them three wonderful bonus babies, my fiancé and my family by my side! I couldn’t wish for anything more from 2017, it’s been the best year I could have imagined!

See you online guys! x

Christmas in pictures

My Christmas was spent with my fiancé, my parents and my little sister

My Christmas was spent with my fiancé, my parents and my little sister – it was a wonderful evening ❤️
The presents this year from my fiancé – he knows me too well! The Glow Kit from ABH, mystery box, MAC long lasting lipstick in the Metallic “Softly Rockin” and MAC lip liner in “Whirl”, these were my four main presents, I’m spoilt lol..
The items in my Mystery Box! A teddy, which is a microbe – The common cold (wasn’t in the box, he bought it separately) bicycle balls – back lights to place under the seat lol! Pizza socks, so cozy! Hyper lips, a gamer mug, a mindless coloring book and edible bubbles! – The Mystery Box is always a hit, I seriously adore it! Quirky is my middle name haha!
My mom and dad bought me a double bedcover, a really nice sweater from Guess and a gorgeous hand soap and bath gel! My little sister got me a lip primer from Golden Rose, and also a gift certificate to Golden Rose – I quite like that store!
All in all it was a wonderful Christmas and I was spoilt more than I ever imagined, I must say I spoilt my fiancé just as much as he spoilt me, although his boss ended up spoiling him even more and got him a PS4… Beat that?! Yep… lol
We had lovely and calm Christmas and after all the food was eaten and the presents opened, my little sister, fiancé and I, ended up playing a game I bought my fiancé – it was a hit! It’s called Joking Hazard, it’s quite insane, it’s from Cyanide and Happiness, I posted a picture below of one of the jokes we made that evening – we were howling with laughter 😂
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and will have a wonderful New Year, see you online guys! x

My exam and my results

I have been biting my nails for two weeks straight, it has been a battle and I have had so much stress these past weeks that I can’t even begin to explain it, but its been all worth it!

Exam-Word-Map-flatAt the 20th of June I went to draw my exam case in science. Basically, what we did, was go and pick between 6 cases, I picked for us, cause we were so nervous and I just snatched the first and best exam case there was! Number two, my lucky number!

We got the case, sat down, opened it, read it up, found out what subjects to weigh highest and then we went home, we had 24 hours to write and research and use our textbooks, I wrote a lot of Que cards and had with me.

Basically the subjects I had chosen to weigh highest was:

  • Enzymes in the body, how it works and what protein, fat and carbs gets broken down to.
  • Enzymes in the dishwashing soap and how it works on a theoretical level.
  • Enzymes in  washing powder and how it works on a theoretical level.
  • Different types of bacteria, where they thrive, what kills them and how to prevent being infected with the different types of bacteria.
  • Atoms, covalent bindings, ion bindings and what the octet rule and the doublet rule is, and how to calculate how many neutrons there is in an atom.
  • Fluid calculations and also extra fluid calculation when you have a fever and a calculation for what fluids she should drink if her BMI was on a healthy normal scale.
  • BMI calculation and why elderly is better off having a higher BMI, then a BMI calculation of what type of BMI the citizen should have had.
  • Mold and why it’s so dangerous, how it thrives and what you can do to prevent it.
  • Nutrition and protein drinks, how protein binds fat in your body and why a Y-plate is such a good choice.
  • A carbs, protein and fat calculation, how much should a citizen eat if they had to gain weight or keep their weight.

That was basically what I went in and talked about!

I went in the examination room the 21st of June and scored an A+ on the English grade scale / 12 on the Danish grade scale, I was so nervous, but the examination went beyond what I had ever dreamt of. This was defiantly the exam i dreaded the most, but I did it! The censor told me that I was a star, that was something completely new, I teared up and I couldn’t help but cry – happy tears of course! I have never been praised so much in my entire life, he was the best censor I have ever had. I will never forget the praise he gave me, I will take it with me in my further education and I will be calmer, tell myself that I can do this and that I am clever, that I can do calculations

Thursday the 30th of June, I went and had my last exam, this was a ”pass or not pass” grade we got, we had half a week to make a case, based on the subjects that was in the book, it was our ”basic course” that we had to pass, everyone needed to pass this, only a few had to do the science exam, because others had a different education background and had this previously in their education.

I went in the 30th as the second student, and I talked way too long, but was told by the censor, that she hoped I went all the way, and that I took my nurse’s assistant education too, but I want the nurse too, so I have quite a long way to go still, but I’m proud and relived that I got so amazing grades!

For the first time ever, I feel confident that this education and this line of work is just right! I have chosen the right path.

Everyone out there working hard on their exams right now, so much good luck to you! I know how the anticipation nervousness and butterflies feel like! You can do it!

See you guys online! x

Look of the day

Today I went out to dinner with my family and my fiancé, to celebrate my little sisters birthday! I chose a very subtle look, these are the items I used:

I love this foundation from Youth Lab, it covers and blends in with my skin perfectly, and it feels light on my skin and looks natural!

I used Nilens Jord eyeshadow palette – no 1 for my lid and 3 + 4 for doing smokey eyes.

The mascara and the brow mascara is a must have for me – I love them. Ever since I first tried these, I was sold, they have been a permanent item in my make-up bag ever since!

I like a natural but visible lipstick, so I used a “semi nude” lipstick, I love how much MAC’s Brave just fits my skin tone, this is one of my favorite lipsticks.

To finish the look, I used my contouring palette from Smashbox, that I was very lucky to win in December in a give away.

What items do you love? What lipsticks shades are your favorite, and from what brand? I have a thing for MAC lipsticks, but to be fair, blush is more Nyx and foundation is Youth Lab, I would love to hear what brands you guys use!

See you online! x

Happy 2016 everyone!

Goodbye 2015 and hello to 2016

This is our New Years eve in pictures, our dessert – homemade vanilla and strawberry ice cream that I made, our twelve o clock champagne, the make-up I did for the evening and our beloved New Years eve tradition – watching ”Dinner for one” or as we Danes call it, 90th birthday! A black and white movie, but god its funny, and we love it! My mom, my dad, the fireworks, its been a good evening, I cooked everything and my fiancé did the steaks, and they were cooked perfect!

Make-up of the evening was foundation: A cc complete cream from Youth Lab, MAC lipstick called Brave, lip liner from Yves Rocher in the color Rose Fuchsia no 15, brow mascara from Maybelline, eyeliner called master precise from Maybelline and mascara from Max Factor! I will show you guys below, so you can see and if you like, you can contact me, if you wish for a review of anything, Id be honored to give one!

The eyebrow mascara and the eyeliner are both must haves, I have been loving them ever since i first bought them, and will always be a repurchase on my list! The CC cream from Youth lab is very new, but I got it in my monthly Goodiebox, and I have been hooked ever since, the mascara is a constant repurchase since I love that it makes my lashes sit perfect and does not clump! The lip liner from Yves Rocher is very new, and I am still getting to know that one, but I like it so far! Mac is never something you will regret buying, and the lipstick Brave is one of my favorites by far, with the lip liner, soar (which I did not wear on the pictures above though).

Christmas 2015

Christmas day was amazing!

We celebrated Christmas in the UK, West Yorkshire to be exact, and got to see the kids open all their presents, it was a whole new experience for me, and I loved every min. of it. We had our first Christmas tree in the apartment too, it was beautiful! We went to ”Fisketorvet” to buy one of the kids her present, we got drinks there too, to celebrate Black Friday, it was beautiful with all the lights as always, my fiancé bought me some fantastic Christmas presents again this year, he seems to overdo it each year, insane! This year, he bought me a Pandora bracelet and Pandora earrings! Plus another firebox mystery crate you can see all their gadgets here and he also got me the cutest little unicorn hoodie with build in gloves! Here is a few pictures of everything.

We did a Christmas decoration, made Christmas stars and decorated our tree, I can’t begin to explain how wonderful this December has been, in the beginning of December, we had a snowstorm in Denmark, a very crazy one! From one day to another, we got landed with tons of snow, and the streets were very icy, but at Christmas itself, we had no snow what so ever – typical isn’t it? If you find the pictures too small, you can always have a browse at my Instagram lifeasmiamariah. Would be happy to have more amazing followers!

The last picture is me and my fiancé, dressing up, at his grans house! We had to try out her Santa hat complete with beard and her reindeer horns, haha! It was made into a very special memory, and a good laugh when we look back at it!

So yeah, that was my Christmas basically, how was yours? I would love to hear about it!

Copenhagen fashion week

Jean//Phillip

I was the lucky girl, to win a competition from Tassimo (yes the coffee brand!) and get two exclusive tickets for Jean//Phillip’s fashion show! The day was extraordinary, and we got to spend a day mingling with the celebs and trend setters of Denmark!

A bit of pictures from the show!

It was an amazing show, so many interesting designs and a “bionic man” theme with the silver hair, that every model had! It was very sci-fi actually, and also super cool, I liked the really gorgeous suit that Jean Phillip had made, it looked great. He had some good ideas and the place where the fashion show was at, is called “Børsen” – the surroundings were perfect really, such delicate designs on the sealing and walls, it was a perfect opposite to the new and trendy cut that Jean Phillip had made.

I felt like a celeb! Drinking Vodka drinks and having a look at some of the newest fashion in Copenhagen. It was a blast!
