This past weekend, we had a crazy storm that the reporters called “Egon” here in Denmark! (Yep we do call our storms names, and it’s a bit stupid, cause they are not major like the ones you see in the states!)
But we did have fallen trees, as you see here, and we did have two drowned people, due to flooding and we also had tiles from the roofs flying all over! In Denmark you pretty much see this as horrible, we don’t have major disasters, so this storm was one of the worse ones. The wind was pretty rough, the rain was horrible and bridges all over Denmark closed for a record long time! We have never had them closed for such a long time.
The sea crept up on our docks and up the streets, people couldn’t get home cause of the trains having to stop their regular arrival and departure times – it was a mess!
It’s still strong outside, but at least it’s better than this past weekend, Friday and Saturday was a complete disaster! Sunday was rough too, but it was a bit better and today, Monday was also stormy, but not with the strength it had that weekend at all, luckily!
Hope you guys had some better weather than we had here in Denmark this entire weekend! I just hope that the storm will quiet down and I can go and get my garden plot ready for the spring time! I have missed being in that garden so much, and I can’t wait till the weather clears up!
